| Biamp AudiaFUSION NOW SHIPPING | Biamp® Systems announce it is now shipping AudiaFUSION, the newest member of the Audia® family.  AudiaFUSION brings together open-architecture DSP, Multi-Channel Amplifier technology, and device-monitoring & load-monitoring capabilities. Matt Czyzewski, VP of Engineering, Biamp Systems commented: “AudiaFUSION is the world’s first processor that can decentralize sound, power and control data for the entire system”. The Networked Amplified Processor is CobraNet®-enabled to allow for a decentralized system configuration and to take processing to the end points.  AudiaFUSION has built-in monitoring capabilities to indicate device or channel faults and support for channel-to-channel and device-to-device failover.  When AudiaFUSION is installed in a system with AudiaFLEX, the processors allocate resources as needed, making the entire system more efficient and flexible. | AVIOM's personal mixing system keeps the Tonight Show's Band On Beat | The debut of the Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien was full of firsts, including Max Weinberg and the Tonight Show Band's initial use of Aviom's Pro16® Personal Mixers as the house band's monitor mixing system. Dave Winslow, Monitor Engineer for the band since 2005 comments; "We've been using the Aviom system for the Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien band since the debut.  Having the musicians mix themselves has allowed me to focus more on the production elements and cues.  From a monitor engineer's perspective, it's the Holy Grail." Because the 40-plus inputs of the band couldn't be represented in only 16 stems, Winslow has configured a two-zone Aviom Pro16 system.  On one system that is used for the rhythm section there are stereo submixes of horns and vocals.  On the other (for the horn players and vocalists), he has individual channels for each horn and vocal. This gives Winslow the flexibility to give the musicians the stems they need to control most. The setup for the Tonight Show includes two AN-16/i Analog Input Modules to interface the two separate Aviom Pro16 systems to the Yamaha PM1D console.   Near the console, eight A-16R Rack-mount Mixers are daisy chained via Aviom's A-Net® digital audio protocol.   A custom loom of Cat6 cable fans out to the monitor positions on the bandstand.   Each band member has an Aviom A-16CS Control Surface that serves as a remote controller for his A-16R.  With the control surface, each band member can customize his mix while playing.   At each monitor position, a Rolls PM50 Personal Monitor Amp has been mounted to power the IEM's. Weinberg and Vivino (musical director and guitar player) each wear a lavaliere mic, which they operate with a foot switch, to communicate with Winslow and the rest of the band. | beyerdynamic Opus 600 picks up Installation Europe’s Editor's Award | The beyer Opus 600 caught the eye of the Editor of Installation Europe at this year’s PLASA show and scooped an Editors Award for the Pick of PLASA09 in this month’s IE newsletter. Installation Europe’s Editors Awards are given to products for a number of reasons.  The product may do something completely new or in a more elegant way or may fill a niche.  They commented on the Opus 600; “Some products just do the job in a nice, unflashy way – and beyerdynamic’s Opus 600 wireless microphone system is one of them.  It’s simple to set up, simple to operate and good value for money”. “Key features include interchangable mic capsules to suit the application, and battery life of more than 20 hours.  There's a choice between the single-channel NE600S and dual-channel NE600D receivers.  There are 16 programmed UHF frequencies available;  these can be selected (via Autoscan) and switched easily.  There's also the S600 handheld transmitter, with simple infrared setup. | Biamp RED-1 (Remote Ethernet Device) | The RED-1 Remote Ethernet Device is a remote control for Biamp Audia® and Nexia® systems.  It offers a simple, intuitive interface for end users and can be installed and configured to fit the unique needs of a particular application. The device connects via standard CAT-5/6/7 cabling and is powered over Ethernet, eliminating the need for custom cabling and local power sources.
