Aviom launch its new AllFrame Multi-Modular I/O System at PLASA 2010.
The new Aviom AllFrame Multi-Modular I/O System replaces traditional analogue I/O boxes with a modular digital solution. It is the ideal answer for permanent installations in theatres, schools and conference centres, as well as providing an effective solution for touring and portable live sound applications.  The AllFrame system keeps analogue cabling to a minimum by digitising the audio input signal where it connects to the network, reducing system complexity and labour costs while delivering improved performance and flexibility.

The AllFrame requires a single Cat-5e or fibre connection eliminating the need for soldering, terminating, testing scores of analogue connections, installing conduit, and pulling separate cables for each audio signal.  The unit can be powered over Cat-5e cable or from a dedicated DC power line.  Each AllFrame device supports Cat-5e cable runs between devices  of up to 400ft (120m), with no loss of fidelity.  With integrated fibre optic connectivity, cable runs can be extended to over a kilometre (multi-mode fibre) or tens of kilometres (single-mode fibre).

As part of Aviom's revolutionary Pro64 Series, the AllFrame Multi-Modular I/O System provides robust and flexible audio connectivity.  Pro64's Auto Mode feature supports any combination of serial and parallel wiring topologies without affecting signal flow and I/O points can be placed anywhere an application requires.

XTA Announces New DP548 Dynamic Audio Processor.
The blue front panels of XTA rack-mount audio processors are a familiar sight in live and installed audio systems throughout the world. However, PLASA sees the company raise the bar, not just one but several notches, with the development of the DP548.

The DP548 will be warmly welcomed by audio professionals throughout the industry, as it adds Series 2 Dynamics onto a 4 Series base and then goes on adding.

The DP548 Dynamic Audio Processor combines the very best of the company’s product line and delivers an audio solution which is their most powerful yet. “You can think of the DP548 as ‘a DP448 on steroids’, but that only paints part of the picture.” Says XTA Sales & Marketing Director, Bill Woods. “Think of a standard DP448 - fully loaded with a 28 band EQ, eight parametric EQs and delay on every input; high pass, low pass, nine parametric EQs and delay, plus a combination of two limiters, including the look-ahead “D-Max” limiter on each output.”

“Then add three bands of Dynamic EQ on every input, a variable knee compressor on every output with full control over ratio, threshold, attack and release times. On top of all that, include full matrix mixing of any input to any output or mix of outputs and provide memory recallable dynamic EQ for the first time via Audiocore, and that is the power and potential  of the DP548.”

Audio Professionals already familiar with XTA’s Series 2 Dynamics will immediately see the benefit that adding this functionality brings. With Dynamic EQ becoming an ever-more important tool in live as well as installed sound markets, the latest XTA processor is certain to find a highly appreciative audience.

“I see contractors involved in theatre, nightclubs and live music venues making good use of the DP548 as main system processors.” says Woods. “It can be set up to address external noise issues with the dynamic EQ, while using the compressors creatively, which will make it an extremely valuable tool.”
