beyerdynamic GB announces Blue Sky competition winner Rob Marshall

Congratulations to Rob Marshall, who won the Blue Sky and a ProDesk 5.1 surround sound system in the ‘Subscribe and Win’ prize draw, run by Sound On Sound magazine and sponsored by UK distributor beyerdynamic GB.

Rob, who owns Nostairway Music in Teddington, Middlesex, says “Now we can offer surround sound services to our commercial clients, and as a teaching studio our students will also benefit”. His prize was delivered by Matt Nettlefold, product manager for Blue Sky.

The Blue Sky ProDesk 5.1 system provides the highest quality studio reference monitor system. It is designed for use in professional desktop music and audio production applications using computers and digital audio workstations, including audio editing, video and broadcast post production. Because of the many variables associated with room acoustics, independent subwoofer and satellite level controls are provided. These allow the user to adjust the level of the SATs and SUB to achieve seamless full range response, from below 30Hz to beyond 20kHz.

World class facilities recognise Blue Sky as the industry standard reference for 2.1 and 5.1 sound around monitoring. The renowned Skywalker Sound® audio postproduction house has invested in Sky System One 5.1 and 2.1 systems. This Lucasfilm Ltd company has played an integral part in the success of many blockbuster films including The Hulk, Lara Croft Tomb Raider, The Cradle of Life, and Finding Nemo. This means that Skywalker Ranch now has five Blue Sky 5.1 systems and over 50 Blue Sky 2.1 monitoring systems.

The prestigious SAE (School of Audio Engineering) has also purchased over 75 Blue Sky systems for training schools worldwide.
