| Over the past few years Ireland has seen developments within the industry at a pace that has outgrown most of Europe. The race to catch up with 21st century technology has been a powerful driving force. Now, thanks to a combination of Government tax incentives, strong links between America and the British Isles, plus a more stable environment, business potential is booming in the Emerald Isle. Lyrath Estate Hotel is part of a new €50 million development, situated on the outskirts of Kilkenny City, Ireland, where AVL Systems have provided a custom installation controlled by Cue touchscreens. The hotel’s largest function room caters for 1500 delegates in a theatre style area and converts to 3 individual rooms hosting up to 300 delegates each. A second room, with a capacity of 200, divides into 3 further rooms holding 60 delegates. There are also 3 dedicated boardrooms, each seating 20, as well as a cinema screening room for 16 people. | “The Cue system is the centre pin of the whole installation” commented Mark Fay of AVL Systems. “beyerdynamic, the UK distributor, were very helpful in the concept design and programming, and the end result is a reliable system that is really easy for all the staff to operate”. Another Irish installation, this time by Ican Technology, uses the Cue control system to handle all the inter-conferencing, video-conferencing, LCD/Data Projectors and the public address system at the Radisson SAS Hotel in Galway. The Inis Mor Ballroom is a large space, suitable for weddings and social events, that can be divided into 3 separate rooms for business conferences etc. The Cue system, with one touch, can give each room individual control of AV, lighting and security. “We increasingly find that customers in the hotel market have a wish list of AV requirements that have to be completely versatile enough to satisfy a wide diversity of uses’, Jon Stanley, Director of technical sales for beyerdynamic told us. ‘They need their function rooms to be switch from one set-up to another in minutes not hours. The reason that the Cue system has been so successful is that once it has been programmed, it’s so easy to use and it works out to be better value for money than our competitors control systems”. |
