Warehouse Sound talks back with ASL from beyerdynamic

Edinburgh based Warehouse Sound has recently purchased two ASL WS 200 wireless talkback/intercom systems along with its WS 19 beltpacks from exclusive pro-audio distributor beyerdynamic (GB).

Adding one system into their hire fleet, Warehouse Sound has sold the second system to the Dundee Rep Theatre. Deployed on a new sell-out comedy production “Five Blue Haired Ladies Sitting on a Bench”, directed by Chris Colby and produced by John A Penzottii, the ASL system has been successfully integrated into the theatres’ existing TechPro system and used with beyerdynamic’s DT109.28– a modular single sided headset.

With an increased demand from theatre producers and production companies for reliable wireless intercom solutions, ASL’s system has significantly augmented smooth operations of the stage management team on-site.

Warehouse Sound’s Derek Blair commented:
“ We have been interested in the ASL wireless intercom system for sometime as it operates on the global license exempt frequency, which offers huge potential particularly for touring productions. It is also extremely robust, with excellent sound quality and a very good range. In addition, it is hugely versatile and is compatible with many of the other industry standard systems such as TechPro and RTS Telex.”

Within its 2.4 Ghz frequency range a maximum of 8 wireless full duplex intercom connections are possible at any one location. The system consists of a single channel beltpack or a dual channel beltpack operating with base stations configured for 2 or 4 wireless connections.

The WS 19 beltpack is housed in a strong aluminium case and is provided with a steel beltclip. Special attention has been paid to the intelligibility of speech. Its low noise/high speed op-amps provide a speech presence filter. By virtue of its high power bridged headphone amplifier, communication is further enhanced even in environments with high background noise levels.
