Princess Royal opens Town House
Princess Anne officially opened the Town House in Hamilton, near Glasgow on 8th September 2004. Originally three separate buildings, the old city chambers, library and town hall have now been linked to form one major complex housing a refurbished library, marriage suites and two state-of-the-art venues. The complete audio system is entirely controlled by XTA DP6i using multiple XTA GQ600 equalisers.

The main auditorium will be used for theatre, live music and as a conference facility, as well as community-based arts. ‘We will be having everything from solo acoustic shows to large scale theatre,’ says Chris Adam, chief of audio at the Town House. ‘The overall EQ for the system is done with XTA’s AudioCore software, which makes the job very easy. The installation was carried out by Stage Electrics and also included the installation of an automated flying system and a state of the art lighting rig.’

In addition the Avon room is a 250-seat banqueting hall, also controlled by XTA DP6i. ‘We have three presets on the DP6is’, continues Adam, ‘so that the stage can be set up in either a left, centre or right hand situation. I'd used XTA 226 processors before and was impressed with them, so I was really glad to find out that XTA had been specified for the Town House. The AudioCore software is a breeze to use, and although our system won’t need much changing, any little tweaks will be absolutely no problem.’
