The great British R&B Festival rocks with Renkus....

UK rental company Aquarius Acoustics recently supplied a Renkus Heinz PN102 line array for the Colne Blues Festival. The festival which ran for three days and had over 40 live acts, ran across the August bank holiday weekend.

The system, the first of its kind used by Aquarius, took pride of place on the main stage in the Colne leisure centre. Comprising of 12 PN102/LA, 4 BPS15-2K and managed by a XTA DP-226. The system effortlessly filled the venue space including the balcony from a single source. Because of its 150 degree dispersion and long through capability due to the line array configuration, the need for ‘in-fills’ and ‘out-fills’ became less of an issue than in previous years.

Commenting; Dave Pickering owner of Aquarius said “this was the easiest set up that we have ever done, Aquarius have been the sound supplier for this festival for over eight years and this is the first time I can remember where we have flown a system and managed to fill all of the venue with an even coverage. The time it took to fly was incredibly fast; it probably took longer to hang the motor hoists! I had already planned the angles between boxes using ‘AIMWARE’ and I would have to say in the real environment when we came to testing the system, it was pretty well spot on. Things like the ease of flying and the software make an engineers life a lot less stressful.”
