MCW-Digital at the Formula 1 2004
For 5 years beyerdynamic has been providing the International Press Centre at Hockenheim with state of the art microphones for the Grand Prix of Germany.
Last month, not only the Formula 1 had to be quick and mobile, but also the means of communication such as microphones which needed to be digital and wireless. Everything could be set up quite quickly and removed after the event without the trouble of cables. In meetings or conferences microphone units are used for voice transmission. These microphone units are also used in town halls or parliaments.
The microphone units for the Formula 1 have been manufactured especially for the event without any buttons. Perhaps not entirely true, but it makes for good press, the reason why is that the microphone units are switched on and off with buttons and as racing cars are also operated via buttons near the steering wheel, Formula 1 drivers still get the urge to press buttons after the race. In order to avoid that the microphone units are switched off by mistake due to this reflex, they do not have any operation buttons and are controlled via PC.
The Grand Prix of Germany and the press conferences with MCW-Digital from beyerdynamic were acknowledged as full success.
