Coca Cola and Tate & Lyle sweet-talk visitors
Top names have been investing in the latest wireless tour-guide system from beyerdynamic. The TTS 300 complete ready-to-use microphone and earpiece receivers are already being used by Rolls Royce, Coca Cola and Tate & Lyle, to name a few.
Nick Bolton form TMC (The Music Company) commented "One of the main advantages of the Beyer system is that the DT1s earpiece sits on the outside of the listener’s ear, which is not only more comfortable, but doesn't have any of the health and safety issues of inserting an earpiece with the risk of a transferred infection. Customers can interchange easily to a covered headphone, like the DT300, if outside noise pollution is an issue. The aerial on the receivers are completely internal, so those ever curious children wouldn't be able to break them off."
TMC supplied Tate & Lyle's refinery at Silvertown with 3 x 10 way TTS300 tour guide systems, each containing 10 FE316 receivers with charger pack, DT1 earpieces, and SEM316 handheld microphone with transmitter. Rolls Royce was sold a system by Apple Sound, who also supplied a similar set-up to BMW at the Cowley plant earlier in the year, and Gardav Hire & Sales have just supplied 2 x 20 way systems to Coca Cola in Edmonton, London.
Unique to the TTS300 tour guide systems is that it comes with a beltpack transmitter, the TS316, with allows the tour speaker complete freedom of movement with a choice of handheld or lapel microphone. The beltpack is powered either by a rechargeable 9 volt battery (included) or by a 9v alkaline off-the-shelf battery. The newly developed recharge unit, LG316, is managed by a microprocessor and integrated 'dU' switch-off system and timer, which protects the batteries against overcharging, thereby extending their working life. A dual colour LED indicates charging in process and charging complete. All mobile FE316 receivers and SEM316 handheld fit into an easy to carry flightcase.
With all these features the TTS300 is suitable for use with most types of guided tours, from commercial industry to the highly sensitive environment of museums and galleries.
