BMW Group flaunt their MINI production plant with
beyerdynamic
Flintshire based Apple Sound has recently supplied the BMW Group plant in Oxford with a complete Tour Guide system from West Sussex based pro-audio distributor, beyerdynamic.
The BMW Group Plant has a long tradition of manufacturing and since their investment in the new MINI production facilities earlier this year; the facility has undergone a £230 million investment program to make it one of the world’s most sophisticated car production systems.
Working closely with BMW’s Communications Manager, Lynda Boodell, of BMW, Apple Sound’s, Tourguide Product Manager, John Scott, helped specify the details of this system to meet BMW’s precise requirements as an extremely effective wireless communications system for their guided tour presentations around the new factory. Delegates on the tour are able to listen to the clearly to commentary at a distance and in the noisy areas where it would be otherwise impossible to continue a commentary.
Lynda Boodell explained: “It was great working with Apple Sound. They provided us with a totally bespoke system that met our specifications exactly. We needed head-worn microphones with an unobtrusive transmitter to allow the guide to have both hands free to point out what they were talking about. We also required for the ear pieces not to mask other noises such as warning signals in case of any emergency”.
John Scott, Tourguide Product Manager of Apple Sound, explained: “beyerdynamic’s support was fantastic and by working with their technical support team, we adapted the system to meet BMW’s specifications. In this case, we combined OPUS 54 miniature head worn microphones, modified to allow the guide to mute the microphone when not in use, with the discreet TTS 30 Tour-Guide transmitter to precisely meet BMW’s needs”.
Apple Sound has considerable experience of TourGuide-Systems, having been involved in both their Sales and Hire for over 10 years. The beyerdynamic system is simple to use and operate with each delegate having a receiver and headphone working with the presenter’s beyerdynamic SEM 30 hand held radio microphone. Up to eight channels can be used simultaneously, making the system ideal for multi-lingual presentations.
The TTS 30 Tour-Guide-System is also applicable for leisure attractions and business presentations, including museums, corporate events and outdoor events.
