The DAM 6000 is the single component around which your HiFi installation is built, irrespective of the number of rooms you would like to include. All this without the generation of heat or the sound of cooling fans; an important detail if the equipment is to be tucked away in a cabinet or located in the living room.
For each room being wired for sound, you need a Loudspeaker Module and a Switchplate Module with IR Receiver. The loudspeakers in the room are connected to the Loudspeaker Module, either two for stereo or one for mono, or you can choose to use an external power amplifier. Your electrical installer fits the cabling between rooms. Each Loudspeaker Module contains a unique system address, hence each can individually take control of any of the sound sources connected to the central system, either via infrared remote control or by using the wall mounted switchplate. Any existing HiFi or Home Theatre amplifier can continue to operate completely independently: This amplifier and the DAM System can share the sound sources and divert the outputs appropriately, hence there is no need to provide anything other than one set of sound sources to achieve the multi-room audio. The control commands for the audio sources are stored within the DAM central system and relayed on to the sound sources as required. The DAM-IR remote control is universally programmable and, therefore, can be used to control other devices as well, for example, the TV set.
